EVENT CANCELLED – “In light of growing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, and after much thoughtful deliberation, APEC and its sponsors, IEEE IAS, IEEE PELS, and PSMA have decided not to move forward with the in-person conference event scheduled for March 15- 19, in New Orleans, Louisiana.”

The Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) focuses on the practical and applied aspects of the power electronics business. This is not just a designer’s conference; APEC has something of interest for anyone involved in power electronics:
- Equipment OEMs that use power supplies and dc-dc converters in their equipment

Abstract: Wireless charging is a peculiar technology as it has a strong pull from integrators but not from the market itself. Even though the idea of wireless charging is seducing for consumers, and the use case exists, technical issues remain, and the industry is not ready yet. Wireless charging will be a thing for consumer electronics in the future, nevertheless it seems very complicated to envisage a future for automotive charging due to a lack of consumer interest and efficient solutions.
