11:55am – 12:15pm: Exploring the latest and future MEMS trends
ABSTRACT:
The global MEMS market is steadily growing to reach $20+ billion at the end of the decade. MEMS sensors and actuators can be found in variety of systems, from wearable to smart cities. Ongoing mega-trends such as the electrification of cars, autonomous driving, and Industry 4.0 are reshaping the growth of the MEMS & Sensors business, by giving tailwinds to specific devices and applications. Microspeakers, PMUT, MEMS oscillators or cooling systems are the new kids on the block of the MEMS industry.
The growth is supported by continuous technology development and manufacturing process improvement. From PiezoMEMS to smart sensors using intelligence at the edge, through 12-inch wafer size MEMS foundry project, MEMS companies are continuously innovating to maintain added-value and margins without compromising performances and quality.
The presentation will provide an overview of the current status of the MEMS industry, key trends expected over the next five years, and insights into the evolution of the MEMS ecosystem within the global economic context.
