Status of the microLED Industry
ABSTRACT:
In February 2024, Apple, the leading microLED proponent canceled its smartwatch project, negatively impacting confidence in the technology and its prospects. The automotive industry has expressed a strong interest in microLEDs. However, but before the technology finds its way into commercial vehicles, it must first gain the trust of automakers. MicroLED manufacturers must demonstrate that they will be capable of ramping up volume manufacturing and consistently deliver high quality displays for the long term. This presentation will discuss the current status of the microLED industry, its major leaders and prospects for automotive applications.
