Sanjai Parthasarathi, PhD
Chief Marketing Officer
Sanjai is the Chief Marketing Officer of Coherent Corp.
He joined Coherent in 2003 and has held various progressive senior leadership roles in R&D, product management, business operations, strategy and marketing. He was appointed the company’s first Chief Marketing Officer in 2019. Sanjai played a pivotal role in the charting the strategy and driving the execution of the company’s transformation into an industry leading photonics powerhouse. Over his 35+ year career he has broad technology industry experience across many markets, including datacenter, telecom, industrial, instrumentation, automotive and consumer. Prior to Coherent, Sanjai held senior business and technical leadership positions in Oplink Communications, TeraStor, Western Digital, and Concurrent Technologies Corporation.
Sanjai has a B.Tech from IIT-Madras, M.S. from University of Virginia and Ph.D. from Penn State.
Nikhil Kumar, PhD
Senior director of photonics
Nikhil Kumar joined Lightmatter in 2023 and is the senior director of photonics.
Prior to Lightmatter, he was the director of photonic integrated circuits at PsiQuantum, and before that held positions at Neophotonics and Skorpios. In his time in the industry Nikhil has worked on silicon photonic transceiver architectures, quantum photonic circuits and active and passive photonic design. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
Lakshman Srinivasan, PhD

As a Photonics Market & Technology Analyst at Yole Group, Lakshman Srinivasan analyzes day-to-day innovations in photonic technologies, devices, materials and manufacturing processes.
Lakshman combines his deep technical background with market-trend analysis to deliver insights across optical interconnects, integrated photonics, semiconductor wafer processing and sensing. His work helps Yole Group’s clients understand not only the “what” and “how” of photonic advancements, but also the “why” behind market evolution and supply-chain impact.
Before joining Yole Group, he co-founded a startup 'Iris Lab', where he focused on using photonics, AI and photovoltaics towards wireless energy transmission to solve the energy constrains faced by autonomous robotic systems.
Lakshman Srinivasan holds a PhD in Physics (Institut Polytechnique de Paris, 2024) specializing in low-temperature plasma deposition of III-V semiconductors, and a European Master’s in Photonics from Ghent University, Belgium (2020).
Martin Vallo, PhD

Martin Vallo, PhD is Senior Technology & Market Analyst, Photonics at Yole Group.
He is specialized in optical communication and semiconductor lasers within the Photonics & Sensing activities at Yole Group. With 12 years’ experience within semiconductor technology, Martin is involved today in the development of technology & market products as well as the production of custom consulting projects.
Prior his mission at Yole Group, he worked at CEA (Grenoble, France), with a mission focused on the epitaxial growth of InGaN/GaN core-shell nanowire LEDs by MOCVD and their characterization for highly flexible photonic devices.
Martin graduated from Academy of Sciences, Institute of Electrical Engineering (Slovakia) with an engineering degree in III-nitride semiconductors.
Axel Clouet, PhD
Product Marketing Manager, Market Intelligence
Axel Clouet, PhD is Product Marketing Manager at Yole Group.
Axel occupies a new position in the company's marketing department where he bridges products, sales, and markets, tailoring reports and services for global clients. He leverages strong technical insight to develop value propositions and support strategic product initiatives.
Prior to this position, Axel was a Senior Technology & Market Analyst, Imaging, in the Imaging & Display team. He contributed daily to technology & market analyses on various imaging technologies and participated in the production of the relevant Yole Group products.
Axel Clouet is the author of various scientific papers and conference presentations.
Axel earned his PhD on CMOS image sensors at CEA-Leti (France) after graduating from the Grenoble Institute of Technology (France) with a specialization in semiconductor physics.
