ANALYST THURSDAY – Technical pillars for car electrification: power, controller, and battery
Sign in for replayhighlighting various technological themes at Yole GROUP closely related to electrification.
The hundred years old automotive industry has never seen a lack of innovation. However, nothing in the past decades is close to the ongoing revolution brought by electrification. We see irreversible trends in all transportation segments and all regions worldwide.
Technically, the transition is not simply a replacement of a powertrain, from engine and transmission to e-axle containing inverter, e-motor, and reducer. Core technologies in vehicle design, manufacturing, and services are shifting fundamentally.
In this webinar, Yole Group, known for our expertise in semiconductors and related technologies, shares our vision of the multiple technical pillars of car electrification, far beyond the e-axle. Inverters, with a focus on critical power electronics such as SiC MOSFETs and Si IGBTs, will be explained. Other high voltage systems, in this case, an OBC and DC/DC combo, will be used to demonstrate the integration trends with an actual teardown example. The change will also be discussed on the microcontroller level, reflecting an exciting shift from internal combustion engine (ICE) times. Last but not least, the most valuable part of a BEV, the battery pack, will be highlighted with technical insights on the innovations ahead.
This webinar will highlight:
- Automotive Electrification Market Review
- Power Electronics (SiC and IGBT module teardown)
- Integration – VMax teardown
- MCU trends
- Battery Pack Trends
