Power Integrated Circuits Quarterly Update
What moves the power ICs market in the short and long term?
Power ICs are used everywhere in all semiconductor applications. Both shipment units and revenues of power ICs were increasing steadily in 2016 across multiple application end markets, for example, automotive, industrial, and communications. But how much longer will the growth fare in the short to medium term?
In this webcast, Yole Développement provide a demo of its new product: power IC quarterly update. After the demo, customers should be able to utilize the tools in the power IC quarterly update to answer some of the key growth questions such as:
• What is the total available market (TAM) for voltage references?
• What markets are driving the growth of linear regulators? Are traditionally linear regulators seeing adoption or are they being phased out.
• Which application market was pushing switching regulators to grow the most? Are there markets that traditionally ignore switching regulators started to utilize this power solution in 2016?
• Besides smartphones, what other applications will use multiple output power management ICs (PMICs) as its power solution of choice? If the smartphone growth slows down in 2018, are there are sectors that will help the growth of PMICs?
• What is the market forecast for other Power ICs such as Power Over Ethernet (PoE), Power Factor Correction (PFC) controllers, etc?
We focus on helping customer to derive to the answers of their questions through the utilization of tools available in the Yole Développement product “Power ICs Quarterly Update”. After the demo, subscribers be able to drill down to the dataset and use the power IC quarterly update to its full potential.
Speakers:
Jonathan Liao is a Senior Analyst & Business Development Manager at Yole Développement (Yole). Jonathan is leading the quarterly power management market updates. In addition, he performs technology & market reports for gate driver, discrete, module, compound semiconductors, and power management IC.
Before joining Yole, Jonathan served as a power electronics Sr. Analyst at IHS Markit. Within a global semiconductor business ecosystem, financial analyses and power management scouting were part of his mission. Prior to IHS, he was a product engineer at Microchip Technology Inc. During this period, Jonathan gained a strong expertise in analog & mixed signal devices.
Jonathan Liao earned his Master of Science (AZ, USA) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (PA, USA)..
Dr. Pierric Gueguen is Business Unit Manager for Power Electronics and Compound Semiconductor activities at Yole Développement, the “More than Moore” market research and strategy consulting company. He has a PhD in Micro and Nano Electronics and an master degree in Micro and Nanotechnologies for Integrated Circuits. He worked as PhD student at CEA-Leti in the field of 3D Integration for Integrated Circuits and Advanced Packaging. He then joined Renault SAS, and worked for 4 years as technical project manager in R&D division. During this time, he oversaw power electronic converters and integration of Wide Band Gap devices in Electric Vehicles. He is author and co-author of more than 20 technical papers and 15 patents.
Moderator:
As part of the Commercial & Communication team of Yole Développement (Yole), Fayçal El Khamassi serves as a Global Sales Support & Coordinator. He is in charge of the development of technology & market reports activity and is closely working with the international sales team to support Yole’s customers. For few years, Fayçal is composing business development actions, especially to the attention of major accounts. He has more than 15 years of experience in the “More than Moore” semiconductor marketplace.
Fayçal holds a Beng Honours (Bachelor – Mechanical Engineering) from the University of the West of England, Bristol (England) as well as an Mechanical and Production Engineering degree from University Claude Bernard (Lyon, France).
