CATL and CHINT enter into strategic partnership

CATL and CHINT entered into a strategic partnership agreement in Hangzhou. Dr. Robin Zeng, chairman of CATL, and Nan Cunhui, chairman of CHINT, attended the signing ceremony. 

As a provider of smart energy solutions, CHINT has formed three major segments of “Green Energy, Intelligent Electric and Smart Low-carbon” and two major platforms of “CHINT International Platform and Sci-tech Innovation Incubation Platform”. It has significant advantages in solar-plus-storage integrated energy investment, energy storage system integration technology, the full range of smart electrical products, integrated PV power station solutions, and Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) services. 

Dr. Robin Zeng said that CHINT is the epitome of high-quality development of Chinese private enterprises, demonstrating impressive entrepreneurial spirit of innovation, focus and pragmatism. There are great cooperative potential for both parties in product development, system integration, and intelligent manufacturing. The two parties are expected to further strengthen technical cooperation and exchanges, continue to expand the scope of cooperation, and elevate the level of cooperation, jointly launching more market-competitive, mature and reliable products and solutions to global markets, and creating a win-win and sustainable strategic partnership. 

Nan Cunhui, chairman of CHINT, said that CATL, as an innovative company in the field of new energy, has made continuous breakthroughs in key technologies of EV and energy storage batteries. The development concepts of both parties are highly consistent and the businesses are highly complementary. Currently, CHINT is actively seizing the opportunities brought about by digital intelligence and carbon neutrality efforts, promoting localization strategies, and building a platform-based enterprise. He expected CHINT and CATL to leverage their respective advantages and experience to jointly create new models and new forms of business by integrating technology, markets and other superior resources, create greater economic, social and ecological value, and promote green and sustainable development. 

According to the agreement, the two parties will focus on strengthening cooperation in their advantageous areas such as energy storage, continue to expand the scope of cooperation in fields such as the integrated solution of solar, storage and charging, comprehensive energies, smart low-carbon solutions, and intelligent manufacturing, and realize industrial coordination in project investment and development, market development, joint research and development, and other fields and perspectives, jointly promoting the healthy and sustainable industry development of the integrated energy market, and providing global customers with high-level new energy solutions and full life cycle services for energy storage systems. The two parties will work together to expand global markets, lead the industry towards high-quality development, and help achieve the goal of carbon neutrality at an early date.
