MobileDrive details ADAS-focused technology partnership with Siemens

Siemens Digital Industries Software announced that MobileDrive has adopted a model-based systems engineering approach and is using the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, and its digital twin technology, to support the development of new ADAS and autonomous driving systems. MobileDrive has said that using Siemens’ software has already helped it accelerate its progress within these areas of development.

To help the organization achieve its goals, the manufacturing corporation’s Simcenter Engineering and Consulting services team worked with MobileDrive to deliver a complete methodology and roadmap for its ADAS vision. At the same time, the team developed control algorithms and built a detailed scenario-based system model. This model included sensors and vehicle dynamics based on market-led full vehicle requirements using the Xcelerator portfolio of software and services.

This systems model was then applied to virtual test environments, allowing the MobileDrive team to observe vehicles as a true digital twin to quickly uncover and address issues in system and software performance earlier in the development cycle. MobileDrive itself found that Siemens’ technologies helped it verify ADAS software features early in the digital twin environment and realize a more streamlined software development process.
