Sivers Wireless, a subsidiary of Sivers Semiconductors has received an order for their 5G mmWave IC from TMYTEK in Taiwan. TMYTEK provides mmWave solutions for 5G and satellite communications. This new order opens up new opportunities in the Asian market, even though the value of this order is small at this stage.
The order consists of sample components and an evaluation kit which will be used to test and evaluate performance for various beamforming application scenarios required by TMYTEK.
The Sivers Wireless IC has been developed for 5G phased antenna array applications. Unmatched scalability enables very large array configurations while limiting the number of digital interfaces. Due to its flexible control interface, scalability and low power dissipation, it is the perfect choice for 5G NR beamforming applications.
Sivers Semiconductors is very pleased to receive this order from TMYTEK. As 5G is a big and increasing market in Asia, the implication of this order on the growth potential for their 5G mmWave products on the Asian market is exciting.
