Zenseact, Sweden and brighter AI, Germany sign contract in data anonymization for autonomous driving

Zenseact, one of the partner companies in MobilityXlab, and brighter AI, a privacy tech startup, have signed a contract in data anonymization for advanced analytics and machine learning. Starting back in Batch 4, the now extensive cooperation for data acquisition kicked off.

The relationship between the two companies started in 2019, when brighter AI was selected to join MobilityXlab’s Batch 4 and subsequently developed a proof of concept (PoC) with Zenseact. Now, the anonymized images provided by brighter AI will be used by Zenseact in research on safety for autonomous driving. The images have also been published in the Zenseact Open Dataset, which includes real-world traffic scenarios from highways, country roads, and urban areas.

The commercial contract represents the 14th acceleration reached by startups in the MobilityXlab portfolio since its foundation, in 2017. “These results are enabled by a unique collaboration model based on the closeness to our industry partners that are involved in every part of our organization, from screening new applicants to the innovation program”, says Katarina Brud, Director of MobilityXlab.

MobilityXlab’s collaboration program is aimed at startups and emerging companies seeking PoCs and validation projects that may lead to pilots and a commercial contract. Selected startups work with our seven partners: CEVT, Ericsson, Polestar, Veoneer, Volvo Cars, Volvo, and Zenseact, global game-changers within the field of future mobility.
