49 BCD technologies from the 24 major manufacturers: what could we expect?
- The modelisation of the shortage effect and the COVID-19 effect on the die price explain the increase of the manufacture cost and the larger gross margin of the manufacturer.

Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD) has been developed to facilitate the control of power devices. Indeed, by offering a monolithic Integrated Circuit (IC) solution to integrate the gate driving circuit and current/temperature measurements, BCD protects the power component in the same silicon IC.
The smart power and mixed signal components manufactured with BCD technologies integrate more and more digital functions but also more and more analog functions. To simplify integration in a system and improve accuracy, passive components are integrated in the component to perform a monolithic SOC (System On Chip). The poly-poly capacitor and the poly-diffused silicon capacitors have been integrated for a long time.
