The RFFEM Comparison 2025 report surveys the leading module architectures found in current consumer devices, focusing on smartphones from Apple, Google, Samsung, Vivo, ZTE, and Oppo. It identifies the main system-on-chip suppliers (USI, Broadcom, Qualcomm and MediaTek), detailing their chosen technology nodes, wafers, and design strategies, and shows how Murata, Skyworks, Qorvo, and Qualcomm deliver front-end modules that enable the different wireless features in today’s handsets.
By tearing down representative phones, we extracted the key RF components and performed a thorough physical analysis of both transceivers and FEMs. Packaging styles, footprints, and semiconductor technologies were examined to map the range of technical trade-offs and cost options across the market.
