Smartphone Camera Trends – Webcast

Register now

In 2020 we expect that 6 billion camera modules will be produced and integrated into consumer electronic devices, despite all the covid-19 and trade war woes. The camera module industry is now worth $31B, and its compound annual growth rate (CAGR) is above 10%. This momentum came from a standardized camera module approach, but recent industry trends are changing the game. Imaging applications for smartphones have used multiple cameras, which increases system complexitysuch as new telephoto cameras moving to a periscope approach. For sensing applications high end OEM are either using 3D cameras or under screen fingerprints for user identification and for which camera integration challenge is great.

This webcast will have three parts:

  • Yole Développement will provide a Market and Technology brief, reviewing current trends for smartphone cameras.
  • System Plus Consulting will present a reverse costing brief, with the latest evolution of cameras in flagship smartphones and the main players’ technical choices.
  • Beneq, will present Atomic Layer Deposition as a uniquely qualified solution to meet advances in wafer level optics, advanced 3D integration, and the perennial need for improved sensor responsivity.
