RF front end market evolution in mobile phones – Live Market BriefingSign in for replay
The Radio Frequency (RF) front end is a key piece of technology enabling wireless communication in mobile devices. Its many technical challenges led to the development of a dedicated ecosystem, creating solutions for a dynamic and growing market.
In our highly connected world, mobile phones remain a cornerstone for consumer device manufacturers. Innovation often starts in mobile phones and spreads to other devices. However, to remain competitive, manufacturers must implement wireless communication protocols such as 5G, millimeter wavelength (mmWave), Wi-Fi6/6E and Ultra Wideband (UWB). This creates fierce competition at all levels in the supply chain, which never ceases, as technology keeps evolving. External factors such as geopolitical tensions or supply shortages also strongly affect the market.
This live market briefing will provide insights into these topics based on Yole Intelligence’s reports and the new quarterly market monitor, which tracks market size all the way down to wafer level as well as supply chain, market share and technology evolution.
Technology and Market Analyst, RF Devices & Technology
Nour POPOFF, joined Yole Intelligence, part of Yole Group, as a technology and market analyst for RF devices and technologies. Nour is involved in the production of technology and market reports for the consumer segment, as well as the elaboration of custom consulting studies.
Prior to Yole, Nour was engaged in a program management position, defining silicon qualification strategy for RF technology platforms developed at STMicroelectronics’ Crolles site (RFSOI, FDSOI, SiGe Bi-CMOS). As such, she was in charge of coordinating technology and IPs qualification activities during the different maturity milestones, until the industrialization phase. During her 12 years’ career in ST, she worked also as technical leader for digital circuits design and participated to several technical task forces. She also had the opportunity to lead a collaborative project CEA-LETI/ST on CoolCube FDSOI development, for one year.
Nour graduated from IAE de Lyon with International MBA. She holds research master’s degree in Integrated Circuits from INSA & Ecole Centrale de Lyon, and an Electronics Engineering degree from CPE de Lyon as well.
