SEMICON JAPAN 2022
SEMICON Japan is the premier event that brings together the semiconductor manufacturing supply chain for the latest insights, trends and innovations as the industry powers digital transformation. SEMI Japan 2022 will highlight Smart applications powered by semiconductor technology such as automotive and Internet of Things (IoT).
The event will host the SEMI Technology Symposium (STS). It is an international tech symposium covering the latest developments in semiconductor manufacturing. The first was held in 1982. Trends in cutting-edge technologies, technological issues, and practical technologies centered on semiconductor process and device technology are described in simple terms by front-line engineers. This program stimulates global business growth by involving a variety of different players and visitors.
Yole Group will be part of the STS speakers:

Continuous Sensorization – a Great Promise for MEMS Market Growth
December 14th, 10am – 11:30am
Abstract: MEMS sensors and actuators are part of everyday life and found in a variety of systems, from smartphones to cars to fighter jets. MEMS are going through an unprecedented growth period, reaching $13.6B in 2021 and expected to cross the $22B mark in 2027, growing annually at a ~9% CAGR21-27. If the main growth is coming from traditional MEMS devices (microphones, RF, inertial, optical) found across a multitude of applications, there is great promise for future growth from emerging devices with the big hype being around MEMS timing/oscillators and microspeakers, as well as gas sensors or ultrasonic transducers (PMUT, CMUT). MEMS sensor makers are trying to get out of the product commoditization cycle and move up the value chain by adding software, processing, and computing capabilities to MEMS sensors, giving them extra functionalities and added-value. The presentation will highlight first the overall MEMS market growth and mention the main market trends impact. It will also show the main technology developments related to intelligent sensing.
