Semiconductor equipment and subsystem market defines future worldwide semiconductor device production capacity
There is no doubt that semiconductor equipment drives the technological advancements of semiconductor devices across bare wafer manufacturing, device wafer processing by so-called Wafer Fab Equipment (WFE), the completed device wafer electrical test, and die assembly and packaging. Among all semiconductor equipment groups, the WFE is the most expensive at approximately 60% of the chipmaker’s CapEx. The reason for such a high price is two-fold: first, WFE vendors provide not only a machine but a complete solution taking into account substrate, process, and device parameters; second, the WFE comprises highly specialized subsystems for given process parameters, substrate types, and purity. Hence, the WFE and subsystem markets are strongly interrelated and interact during subsequent market cycles.
In this webinar, we explore both markets and their interrelation as of 2024; we surf through the ongoing memory and logic downturn.
This webinar will highlight:
WFE:
- WFE market size and its relation to semiconductor device revenue and CapEx
- WFE market breakdown by equipment technology and device applications served
- wafer fab equipment market regional analysis: where revenue is generated and where equipment is shipped
Subsystems:
- subsystem market size and its relation to the WFE market
- subsystem market breakdown by subsystem technology
- subsystem market regional analysis
Semiconductor equipment and subsystems enable technological advancements despite geopolitical challenges.
