The merging of LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology into a specialized sensor suite within autonomous vehicles (AVs) is no longer a dream, but a milestone present in the roadmap of TIER-1 suppliers and automotive manufacturers worldwide. LIDAR has already proven its accuracy and reliability, but there exist other aspects that still need to be developed, and even decided.
