MicroLED - Manufacturing 2024

MicroLED manufacturing is complex and for every step and technical roadblocks, there are still many solutions, processes and architectures being investigated. The industry hasn’t yet converged to a single path. There is however more clarity on what work and what doesn’t than 24 month ago. The emergence of μLED-specific functional testing equipment is encouraging. However, the requirement for small die and narrow street width to enable cost reductions pushes the capabilities of current mass transfer, functional
testing and repair tools to their limits. This report details the challengs on the roadmap to mass production and cost optimization to lower the affordability of this technology.
