11.5 MW rooftop solar plant inaugurated in India

One of the biggest rooftop solar energy plants was inaugurated on Tuesday by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at the Radha Soami.

Spread in an area of over 82 acres, the solar plant has been built at a cost of Rs.139 crore by the Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB) in this town, 45 km from Amritsar.

Chief Minister Badal lauded the sect management for setting up the rooftop solar plant, while state New and Renewable Energy Minister Bikram Singh Majithia said that the Punjab government was focusing on setting up of solar energy plants across the state.
