LightPointe introduces the world’s highest capacity 60 GHz radio

LightPointe has launched the world’s highest capacity full-duplex 60 GHz backhaul radio – that offers up to 10 times higher data throughput than any competing radio. The AireLink 60 10 Gig sets a new benchmark in unlicensed 60 GHz spectrum solutions, providing an affordable alternative to 70 GHz and 80 GHz E-band licensed radios and the “lowest cost per bit” of any competing Gigabit capacity link in the industry in the 57 to 64 GHz V-band. The announcement was made during the GITEX Technology Week tradeshow in Dubai.

In addition to offering the highest capacity, the AireLink 60 10 Gig is engineered in a small, aesthetically attractive form factor with a 38.5 dBi high gain antenna integrated into the design. This makes the system easy to install by businesses, video and security integrators, and 5G LTE telecom carriers. The advantage of 60 GHz radios is that they do not require spectrum licensing and can be easily deployed. And since the beam path is very narrow at 1.9 degrees, the transmission from one building or tower to another is precise and secure. In addition to replacing fiber and leased-line alternatives, these radios are ideal for providing failover and redundancy for wireline services to ensure network uptime.
