Sunpower Corporation announced 1,200 jobs suppression

High-efficiency PV module producer and project developer SunPower Corporation announced it was reducing its focus in PV power plant development outside the US and focusing more resources to the distributed generation market in the US.

•   Workforce reduction of approximately 15 percent or 1,200 employees, primarily related to its Philippine facility closure

The company closes its module facility in Philippines and moves production tools to its Mexican facility.
