Kia enables over-the-air software updates for entire model range

New over-the-air (OTA) functionality has been enabled for all Kia models equipped with Kia Connect from MY22 onward, enabling owners to benefit from infotainment features easily and efficiently.

The OTA updates will ensure vehicles’ satellite navigation units can be kept up to date by receiving new maps and related software wirelessly. This negates the need for customers to download updates manually from the Kia Navigation Updates portal or visit a Kia dealership.

Within the OTA updates are the very latest UK and European maps, interface improvements and bug fixes. The first OTA update campaign, which finished at the end of February 2023, delivered several enhancements, including a rollout of the EV6’s ‘Eco’ menu to all other Kia electric models, in addition to improved voice recognition and improved 3D map visualization.

Once OTA updates are activated, owners will receive a pop-up notification on the in-car infotainment system when a new update is available.
