Oppo launches new find X6 series with three main camera system, beginning a new era in imaging technology

 OPPO unveiled its latest flagship smartphone series, the Find X6 series, in China. Featuring a new Three Main Camera System comprising a Wide Camera with large 1-inch sensor, a groundbreaking Periscope Telephoto Camera, and a high-quality Ultra Wide Camera, the Find X6 series evolves smartphone imaging technology beyond the ‘main camera’ system to an all new Three Main Camera era.

Equipped with best-in-category sensor technology and optical design, the Find X6 series enables smartphone photography to span both near and far and light and dark environments for the first time ever, bringing new creative possibilities and unprecedented image quality to both photo and video shooting on all three cameras.

Among the three cameras, the Periscope Telephoto Camera features the largest sensor of any smartphone telephoto camera on the market, resulting in a camera that not only spans distance, but spans light and dark to finally bring telephoto photography capabilities into low-light environments.

Drawing on the power of OPPO’s MariSilicon X imaging NPU and Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform, the Find X6 series introduces an-all new image processing algorithm that more accurately captures the way light interacts with objects and environments in a scene. By capturing highly accurate light information, the Find X6 series reproduces three-dimensional lighting in two-dimensional images for the first time to bring ultra-realistic light and shadow effects to every image.

A Classic Design Both Inside and Out
The Find X6 series integrates powerful imaging performance into an instantly recognizable classic camera-inspired look that plays to the phone’s strengths in photo and video capabilities.

Crafted with glass and brushed aluminum, the centerpiece rounded lens module gives the Find X6 series its sleek and elegant appearance. The textured surface of the aerospace-grade aluminum lens bezel is designed to mimic the grip of classic camera lenses, while an orange dot at the base of the bezel pays homage to the alignment dots found on classic SLR cameras.

Find X6 Pro is available in three new colorways: Brown, Black, and Green. The Brown colorway is crafted with a vegan leather and metal-like glass material back cover while the Black and Green colorways feature an AG glass that has been polished to give it a metallic look and feel. Find X6 is available in Green, Gold, and Black. Both Green and Gold finishes are created using OPPO’s patented OPPO Glow process while the Black model features a mirrored glass material.

On the front of the device, the Find X6 Pro features a highly immersive a 6.82-inch screen with outstanding image quality and excellent durability. The Find X6 Pro display is also fitted with advanced Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2, which improves drop resistance 4 times compared with traditional glass materials, as well as an IP68 water and dust resistance rating for protection against common spills and splashes.

Three Main Cameras Unleash Flagship Imaging Experience
The Find X6 series is equipped with OPPO’s most powerful imaging system to date, offering not just one but three main cameras to bring smartphone photography into a new era. All three of these cameras — a Wide Camera, Periscope Telephoto Camera, and Ultra Wide Camera — feature best-in-class image sensors and state of the art optical designs to deliver flagship-level image quality that never disappoints.

The Periscope Telephoto Camera on the Find X6 series features a large 1/1.56-inch sensor for the first time on a periscope camera with a large 2μm pixel. Together with the large f/2.6 aperture, the Periscope Telephoto Camera is able to gather an unpresented amount of light to deliver a leap in photo and video performance in low-light environments.

With its 1-inch sensor, the Find X6 Pro’s Wide Camera has the largest photosensitive sensor area of any smartphone camera. Combined with a 1G+7P High Transparency Lens Module customized by OPPO, a large f/1.8 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization, the Wide Camera is capable of gathering more light than any other wide-angle smartphone on the market.

Additionally, the 1/1.56-inch sensor of the Ultra Wide Camera on Find X6 Pro is larger than any wide-angle camera to date and features a large f/2.2 aperture. With a 110° super-wide native field of view, the camera also reduces lens aberrations to the greatest possible extent, bringing the most powerful wide-angle photography experience to the Find X6 series.

Near or Far, Light or Dark, the Best Periscope Telephoto Camera
The Periscope Telephoto Camera of the Find X6 series features an all-new periscope lens module and the largest sensor of any telephoto camera on a smartphone to date. This cutting-edge hardware, combined with OPPO’s image processing algorithms, allow the Periscope Telephoto Camera to deliver exceptional image quality and an entirely new telephoto user experience in low-light environments for the first time, revolutionizing the way that telephoto cameras are used on smartphone.

Leveraging the Periscope Telephoto Camera sensor’s 50 million pixels, OPPO’s In-sensor Zoom Technology enables a new 6× hybrid zoom with full optical-quality on the Find X6 series. Without requiring the use of a digital zoom, Find X6 can record full resolution photos and 4K video with image quality that exceeds a 5× fully optical telephoto lens.

Thanks to the large sensor size and lens characteristics of the Periscope Telephoto Camera, together with OPPO’s high-speed autofocus algorithm empowered by MariSilicon X, the Find X6 series delivers breakthroughs in both focusing speed and accuracy to realize an 42% image stabilization range¹. The inclusion of a customized focus motor also enables the Telephoto Camera to achieve a minimum focus distance of 25cm, helping users capture improved close-up shots.

The Next-Gen Image Processing Architecture Powered by MariSlicon X
The Find X6 series captures images that appear incredibly natural to the human eye. By intelligently scheduling resources from the MariSilicon X imaging NPU and Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform, the Find X6 series is able to give full play to the sensors of the three rear cameras, delivering breakthroughs in image clarity, light, and color, all without any noticeable digital artifacts.

The Find X6 series redefines the image processing methodology, using simultaneous deep fusion of uncompressed RAW image data to improve image clarity by 30% and reduce noise by 60%² while capturing the relationship between light and shadow to the maximum extent.

Using OPPO’s auto-focus and auto-white balance algorithms and the upgraded 13-channel spectral sensor, the Find X6 series can capture ambient color, natural and comfortable color transitions, and pleasing skin tones with greater accuracy in a variety of lighting conditions.

Through the Photon Matrix Technology and Image Processing Architecture, the Find X6 series is capable of generating a 12-million-photon matrix that can accurately calculate the relationship between the subject, the environment, and the light in a scene to recreate the most realistic lighting and shadow effects, delivering 8-times higher dynamic range³ than standard SDR.

Legendary Portrait in your pocket with the Hasselblad
Based on the new Three Main Camera system and Next-Gen Image Processing Architecture, the Find X6 series introduces a new Hasselblad Portrait Mode, bringing unpresented optical realism to portraits by simulating the colors and depth of field of Hasselblad’s classic XCD30 and XCD80 lenses.

By simulating the optical characteristics and depth of field of Hasselblad lenses, Hasselblad Portrait Mode on the Find X6 series delivers a natural depth of field with natural transitions between subject and background that go beyond anything else seen on a smartphone yet. The powerful image processing capabilities of the Find X6 series also enable it to separate portrait subjects and backgrounds with greater accuracy.

With its second-to-none light gathering capabilities and 65mm focal length, the Periscope Telephoto Camera on the Find X6 series completely transforms the experience of portrait shooting on smartphone. Users are now free to select focal lengths that work best for portrait images, even in low-light environments, to capture portraits with a unique atmosphere. Users can also continue to use Hasselblad Portrait Mode to capture incredible high-quality snaps of pets, food, and anything else, bringing each object to life with a beautiful depth of field and bokeh background.

The Hasselblad imaging experience has been upgraded with the Find X6 series. With the new Hasselblad Watermark, users can add image information such as shutter speed, aperture, and focal length to the base of the photo to give it a more lifelike appearance. The upgraded Hasselblad Pro Mode on the Find X6 series allows users to shoot with Hasselblad Natural Colour, providing more accurate, natural, and professional colors that will make classic camera users feel instantly at home. On top of this, the classic XPAN mode, Hasselblad shutter sound, and other features create a more immersive Hasselblad shooting experience.

Upgrades to Video Creation on the Whole
With 4K@60fps supported on all three cameras, The Find X6 series offers more creative options when it comes to shooting high-quality video, providing entirely new perspectives whether shooting people or landscapes. The large sensor of the Periscope Telephoto Camera results in a true breakthrough for telephoto video in low-light. The camera also supports near to lossless video quality at 3×-6× to offer even more options when it comes to framing the perfect shot.

Dolby Vision HDR video shooting arrives on Find X6 Pro too, enhancing each frame with vivid contrast, full dynamic range, and true-to-life colours as seen by the human eye to create stunning video content.

OPPO’s Brightest Ever Smartphone Screen
OPPO has fitted the Find X6 Pro with its brightest screen yet to make every photo and video come to life with ultra-realism. The display delivers a peak brightness of up to 2500 nits⁴ — the brightest ever on a smartphone.

It also introduces a new Pro XDR display function that uses the 12 million photon matrix to adjust screen brightness at a pixel-by-pixel level. This results in up to 8-times improvement in dynamic range⁵, allowing HDR images to finally be faithfully reproduced with the most accurate depiction of light and shadow on a smartphone display.

OPPO introduces new global imaging concept, imagine IF
To mark the release of its annual imaging flagship series, OPPO introduces a new global imaging concept called ‘imagine IF’ together with the new OPPO imagine IF Photography Project — a global image creation platform designed to help OPPO users push the limits of expression through the latest photo and video technology.

As part of the OPPO imagine IF Photography Project, OPPO will also launch the 2023  imagine IF Photography Contest on April 17, 2023. The competition will be open to all OPPO and OnePlus users worldwide through the official OPPO website and will consist of eight different competition categories, each of which aims to encourage users around the world to explore artistic expression through new imaging experiences and inspire each other to unleash the infinite possibilities of imaging.

The Find X6 series is equipped with flagship-specification hardware across the board and added reliability provided by a series of OPPO-developed technologies.

Powering Find X6 Pro is the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform. Find X6 meanwhile is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200. Both models are fitted with a range of hardware designed to match the high performance of their respective mobile platforms, including UFS 4.0 flash storage and LPDDR5X.

Reliable Lifespan with Fully Upgraded Battery and Charging
Thanks to the large 5,000mAh battery, Find X6 Pro delivers full day battery life. With the newly upgraded 100W SUPERVOOC_TM flash charging technology, the phone’s battery can be topped up by 50% charged in 10 minutes and 100% charged in just 28 minutes⁶. A new Smart Rapid Charging Mode also increases charging speeds by intelligently identifying situations in which fast charging is needed.

The industry-leading Ultra-low Temperature Charging Mode means the battery can be charged at temperatures as low as -20℃⁷, delivering a significant improvement over the previous industry limit of -10℃. OPPO’s Battery Health Engine also returns to the Find X6 series to effectively double the lifespan of the battery compared with the industry standard.

Faster, More Stable, and More Efficient Connectivity
The Find X6 series supports seamless switching between different networks. By intelligently analysing network conditions, the phone will automatically switch to the best network between 4G, 5G, or Wi-Fi network. This can help to reduce up to 75% of connectivity issues encountered when conducting a video call or meeting in an elevator or garage, and reduce latency by up to 20% when using the metro⁸. Backed by 40 patents, OPPO’s 5G N28 antenna technology can boost theoretical 5G coverage by up to a factor of six and maintain 5G data connectivity at sea by a distance of up to 43km from shore.

Also available on both Find X6 and Find X6 Pro is a new 5G Dual SIM function and industry’s first Cellular Data Sharing feature. Using this feature, without being connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot or local network, the 5G connections of Find X6 series devices can be shared to an OPPO Pad. Once connected, users can make and receive calls or text messages on an OPPO Pad and enjoy up to 67% faster connectivity at 30% less power⁹ compared to standard hotspot sharing.

A Smarter and More Secure ColorOS
The Find X6 series comes installed with the newly upgraded ColorOS 13.1 at launch, offering a host of new features designed to protect user privacy and personal health.

Among these is the world’s first Active Privacy Protection for Voice Calls. The technology is capable of improving sound insulation by up to a factor of 3.5 to reduce audio leakage¹⁰ from the earpiece when taking calls in public places. Even in elevators, cars, or other enclosed spaces, Active Privacy Protection for Voice Calls on the Find X6 series can effectively prevent anyone outside of a 50cm radius from listening in on calls.

A number of new features are also included to help improve efficiency and convenience for both work and entertainment. ColorOS Multi-Screen Connect¹¹ makes connectivity between multiple devices smarter and more secure. With an OPPO account, smartphones, tablets, and PCs can connect securely to each other when placed in close proximity without the need to connect to the same network. This enables multiple devices to share photos, videos, and other content across devices. What’s more, users can switch seamlessly between the same app across multiple devices or quickly switch a pair of Bluetooth headphones from one device to another.
