Sungrow receives A certificate for compliance with calibration law (module B & D) for the EV charger IDC180E

Eichrecht is a German law that defines requirements for all measuring devices such as petrol pumps and electricity meters. As part of the law, electricity meters must be calibrated so that one kWh always corresponds to one kWh. For Sungrow, this involves ensuring that our electricity meters always align the delivered quantities with the actual volume.

According to the Eichrecht law, consumers must also be able to confirm whether their invoice is accurate. This involves fitting charging stations with certified energy meters that accurately portray kWh energy used to consumers using a physical display. This information must also be encrypted by the charging station before it is sent to any other systems, so that third parties are unable to alter the data.

Any measuring devices that do not meet these requirements cannot legally be used for commercial purposes.

Sungrow can now guarantee a transparent measurement and billing process for all IDC180E end users. The charging station is now ready for use in semi-public and public areas across Germany and Austria.

“This is a significant milestone for Sungrow. Germany and Austria are for electric vehicles and with our Eichrecht-compliant DC fast chargers, we ensure that each user is charged for the exact kWh that has been consumed. Our station has passed the most sophisticated test procedure in Europe so far, with respect to accuracy standards and meeting the regional requirements,” comments Robert von Wahl, Director Charging Sungrow Europe.

The milestone is particularly exciting because the IDC180E now has a charging range of 120-180 kW. This allows EV to charge at a much lower density, while the charging process still applies to an average EV increase usual for high-power DC charging for breaks.

The IDC180E comes with an operating temperature range of -35 °C to +55 °C, a multi-language system including English, Spanish, German, French, and Dutch, and a 3-year warranty with an extended warranty optional.

With all this functionality and more, the IDC180E delivers many important benefits:

-Reliability: With dust, rain and saltwater protection with IP65 and C5 high corrosion protection, a service lifetime of up to 10 years, and easy maintenance without a filter, the IDC180E is one of the most reliable charging stations around.

-Efficiency: It also operates with an efficiency of up to 96,5%, facilitates dynamic power allocation between the outlets, and has an innovative cooling system built in.

-Ease of Use: A retractable cable management system and various payment options make this charging station easy to use. It also has a barrier-free design for easy access.

-Future-Proof: The IDC180E is compatible with new cars and backends and supports OCPP1.6J and Plug & Charge, and is ready for OCPP 2.0.1. It is also in the process of integrating with PV and Energy Storage Systems, making it as future-proof as possible.
