TEPCO Renewable Power, (TEPCO RP) has formed “Floating Offshore Wind Technology Research Association” along with 13 other operators currently engaged in offshore wind power generation technology research, and commenced its full-scale activities.
While reducing the cost and risks associated with floating offshore wind power generation is indispensable for promoting the commercialization of such technology, there are many issues that are difficult to solve by a company on its own. This Association aims for the broad, widescale and early commercialization of floating offshore wind power generation through cooperation between operators addressing these issues.
Going forward, TEPCO RP shall continue to harness natural resources to the best of its ability to provide a stable and low-cost supply of electricity thereby spreading the use of renewable energies both domestically and abroad, and contributing to carbon neutrality and the development of regionally-rooted industry.
