- The total market size reached US$46 billion in 2022, with subsystems dominating the market share at 50%, followed by modules at 34%, and components at 16%.
- Despite facing challenges in late 2022 and Q1-2023, suppliers have achieved remarkable growth over the past four years.
- While the memory market has experienced a notable downturn, the specialty markets and advanced packaging segments remain healthy and, in certain cases, continue to exhibit growth.

According to Yole Intelligence, part of Yole Group, in the Semiconductor Equipment Subsystems Market Monitor, the first quarter of 2023 posed significant challenges for subsystem suppliers as a result of the downturn in the WFE market and high inventory levels at OEMs. This led to a sharp decline in order intakes during Q1. Despite these difficulties, most suppliers maintained profitability, and there is an expectation of a gradual increase in orders and revenue in the upcoming quarters.
