Yole Group Corporate Presentation
Significant market correction in Q1 2023 but the beginning of recovery around the corner
After another record year in 2022 for the global semiconductor industry, the fall in memory prices in Q3-2022 sent shock waves through the semiconductor equipment supply chain resulting in a slight fall in demand for subsystems, components, and modules in Q4-2022. Q1-2023 amplified this decline leading to a complete collapse of parts orders as OEMs raced to run down their considerable parts inventories. Demand is on track to fall more than 25% in Q1-2023, but stabilization at 2020/2021 levels is expected from Q2 2023 after excess inventory clearing.
Comprehensive analysis of the semiconductor equipment subsystem, component, and module markets
The Semiconductor Subsystems Market Monitor offers data from almost 200 subsystem, component, and module suppliers. These subsystems, components, and modules (SCM) are fitted in and around front-end wafer fab equipment (WFE). These products are often overlooked, yet essential and critical to manufacturing and running the latter. Quarterly and yearly forecasts of SCM segments are compiled along with vendor shares. The semiconductor supply chain and the role of suppliers of SCM are detailed. The reader is also provided with highlights of specific market and technology trends as they evolve. A specific segmentation was developed to capture the whole bill of materials for WFE, which will give the reader a comprehensive view of the entire semiconductor SCM market.
